How to Prepare Your Skin for Winter: Start Now Before the Cool Weather Arrives

Winter skin isn’t made in January. It’s made in November, in the weeks before the radiators come on, when the air turns thin and dry and skin quietly loses moisture it won’t easily get back.

The fix is unglamorous: start moisturizing properly now. At night, warm a small amount between your palms and press it over face and neck. The beeswax in the formula sits lightly on the surface and locks in moisture while you sleep.

Don’t forget the parts winter finds first — lips, knuckles, elbows, heels. A thin layer morning and evening keeps them soft and conditioned before the weather can make its argument.

By the time the first real cold arrives, your skin will already be ahead of it. That’s the whole trick: begin before you need to.
